About Divine Order

Hello! I’m Kimberly

The brains, brawn and heart of Divine Order with a passion for turning chaos into order and helping people achieve their organizational and life transition goals.

Since starting Divine Order in 2017, I have worked with many wonderful and appreciative clients and look forward to assisting many more. Immense satisfaction is gained when I help people tackle what seems like an insurmountable task and then, after completion, see them happy, relieved and ready to move ahead with their next step – whether they’re staying in place or preparing to make a move.

I love seeing a client elated after a big purge or clean out, fall back in love with their home or their most valued belongings, when a challenging space is now more functionable, a home sells quickly or a move is less stressful and they’re happy in their new home.

Any result a client wants to achieve with my assistance is tackled with compassion, a common sense approach and strong work ethic. I’m a pro at:

  • managing projects using my strong communication and time management skills
  • downsizing, decluttering and organizing any space using my professional organizing experience
  • finding new homes for unwanted ‘stuff’ using my problem-solving abilities
  • styling camera-ready spaces using my interior decorating and design skills

Some of my work experience over four decades include marketing and communications, business management, project coordination and client services, not-for-profit, plus owner of three home decor and design businesses. Being self-employed has always been a natural fit for my entrepreneurial personality and independent work style.

A Compassionate Approach

My approach working with clients is non-judgmental and supportive balanced with a subjective eye and a ‘get it done’ attitude. I take great care in practicing compassionate communication skills, keenly listening to your spoken and unspoken needs while working together to discover solutions that work specifically for you. And I’m always game for some good laughs along the way!

Sustainability

To minimize waste going into our landfill, recycling and donating are part of every Divine Order project. Following BC Recycle and CRD guidelines, recyclable materials are separated for curbside pick-up or drop-off at various depots throughout our community. Items marked for donation are bagged and boxed destined for various local organizations.

No Instagram Photos

You won’t find any social media accounts for Divine Order or any social media posts with photos of your home or your belongings. A client brings me into their home and trusts me seeing decades worth of personal belongings and their life history. Working together is often a very personal, emotional experience and taking photos during this process feels, well, out of place.

Personal experience

Personal experience with downsizing, selling, moving, estate clearing? Check. Over the years, I have bought, renovated and sold five properties, have moved locally three times and across the country three times. Between selling and buying my next home, my belongings were all neatly labeled and organized in a rented storage locker while I prepared for my next step.

I’ve dealt with moving trucks, packing and unpacking, and that thought “Why am I moving AGAIN”? With each move, I applied my fine-tuned organizational and project management skills and took advantage of the opportunity to downsize and eliminate items that I no longer wanted, needed, used or loved.

Before every move, I downsized my belongings, pairing down all categories and substantially lightening my load and moving costs. Today, I happily embrace a more minimalist lifestyle. I own less belongings compared to 20 years ago, seldom buy new ‘stuff’ and am more committed to a smaller environmental footprint by recycling, reusing, repurposing and refusing items.

I was the executrix of my father’s estate when he passed at 59 and also assisted with my 98-year old grandfather’s estate. Both properties had to be sold once their lifetime of belongings were sorted and dispersed and the properties cleared. These experiences were very emotional and insightful for me, and impact how I support Divine Order clients dealing with clearing a family member’s estate or downsizing their own belongings.

Assisting you through life transitions

Big or small, planned or unplanned, life transitions are inevitable and can drastically impact our daily lives. Some transitions are exciting and adventurous, while others are challenging, overwhelming and difficult to navigate. Are you dealing with any of these transitions?

  • Empty nest, retirement, aging in place
  • Downsizing in place or moving to a smaller place
  • Selling your home or the family a home
  • Divorce, death of a loved one, clearing an estate
  • Chronic illness, physical limitations

Most transitions are intertwined with ours or a loved one’s belongings, decades or a lifetime’s worth of accumulated items that we may or may not still want, need or treasure. We feel weighted down by the daunting task of going through everything – making decisions on what to keep, gift, sell, donate, recycle and discard before moving forward with the next step.

If you’re needing support and guidance with the decision-making process or side-by-side hands-on assistance, Divine Order can work collaboratively with you to get the task done, working at your pace and comfort level.
